Today was my birthday and as per usual now most birthday wishes come in the form of a notification on Facebook.
While normally, I like being a bit more personable about comments on things, I chose to simply like the wall posts. This does not mean I'm just acknowledging the sentiment in a "yeah, yeah thanks" sort of way, but rather I genuinely like and appreciate the couple of seconds spent to drop a line and say "Happy Birthday".
I'm not sure why, but this year was one of my favorite birthday's I've had in a while. It may just be the fact that it was on a weekend where I could do whatever I wanted and I did. Saturday night I stepped out of my norm and went to a bar for trivia which got me out of my apartment and let me just talk the night away. The next morning I could sleep in and then see my parents and girlfriend for lunch. I came back home and opened up a cool present from my girlfriend.
After that we watched football.
What made my night even better was a nice laid back fraternity meeting where one of our advisors bought cupcakes since it was my birthday!
All-in-all I enjoyed my Birthday by not being busy and strapped down with so much to do. As a whole, thank you to everyone who made my day enjoyable, and thank you to everyone who took a couple seconds out of their day to wish me a happy birthday!
Have a wonderful day, because I did too!

Gangham Style Hipster
I hate to be the guy who says that he heard PSY's Oppin Gangham Style before it was cool, but I did. One of my friends back home found it shortly after it came out and he showed it to me. In a way I liked something that has trended to be the one of the most popular pop songs as of late.
The song has reached the point now where there are parodies all over the internet. Whether it is "Open/Broken Condom Style" or some other simple parody such as replacing PSY with the Pokemon Psyduck, Gangham Style has rocked the internet.
Heck even a Hitler parody has arisen, but this time he is not angry about anything.. well in theory..
Its not great, but it is a decent remix. One wonders what the next song to cause a wave of parody and remixing will be.
Have a great day!

Bacon: The Real End of the World
I don't know how the Aztecs predicted it, but the end of the world is upon us. A recent report from the Britain's National Pig Association has reported that 10% less pigs will be slaughtered in the next year to accommodate for the lower number of pigs. As a result, experts are predicting that the cost of bacon will double in the next year.
This sucks because bacon is delicious, however, I'm not really hit too terribly hard with this. I imagine that the biggest hit will be internet cooking show's Epic Meal Time with a majority of their budget going towards the delicious pork product.
As a result, let's take a look back at bacon in it's prime. For today is not a goodbye, but a see you later.
Try to carry on with your life, and have a great day.

Posts May Become Less Frequent
Looking back, I have already missed two consecutive days of posting and I am a little sorry about it. The reason that I'm only a little sorry is because I was not doing it out of lack of caring, but because I've been busy. This week is my last homecoming week as a student so I'm trying to do as much as possible. Starting today, my days will not be over until 11pm (approximately) but everything should be pretty fun. I should be able to post at least on Wednesday and Thursday provided that my internet at work doesn't cut out as it has been lately.
As a positive however, starting in October my roommate and I will be starting the Probability of Randomness Power Hour radio show on Monday and Thursday nights 10:00 - 11:00 (ish) PM CST. There will be podcasts made for it so eventually I will get them on YouTube or iTunes.
To allow for better posting, these podcasts may replace a few posts during the week so there is content every day.
Thank you for understanding and have a great day!

I Almost Forgot..
I was going to make today's post during work, but of course there was no internet for the entirety. As a result, I have resorted to making this post in class about the class that I'm in. While the class is only around halfway over, I still have a couple pieces that I've made so far that I can use today.
I'm hoping that my 3D design skills improve greatly over the course of the course. Last time I showed some simple pieces, and now we're getting a touch more complex with multiple-shape objects like coffee mugs (cup and handle).
Anyway, I'll probably have another piece to add if time allows, but tonight is a Dodgeball recruitment event and I really don't want to miss that! Perhaps I'll add it tomorrow or I'll wait until next week.
Have a great day!

A simple mug
A simple mug on a plane
A simple mug on a rolling meadow hill... yeah that is totally necessary...

May The Funk Be With You
The other night I was a little stressed out, too much so to go to bed, so I laid down on the couch and started watching Family Guy on Netflix. I decided that watching Blue Harvest was a good idea, and it was. It got my mind off of everything because it was done really well, unlike the third "It's A Trap" which was obvious that they didn't want to do.
Nevertheless, it got me into the Star Wars mood, and luckily enough, I had a picture in mind that I saved for such an occasion, but first, some music to get us in the mood.
If that doesn't get you ready for Star Wars, you either hate Star Wars, or hate Disco. As a note, it is almost impossible to hate this song, but if you managed to, congrats...I guess.
Anyway, after Alderan is destroyed and Han Solo and the gang are leaving hyper-space they come across "a moon". This scene is the beginning to the backbone of Star Wars IV: A New Hope and the true trilogy. The starting line comes from Obi-Wan, as one of his final lines as well seen here in a parody.
Everything is not always what it appears to be..

This is a Giraffe!
FALSE, this is not a giraffe, but rather a slew of code hidden from the optic nerve of literate humans, but brought forth as coherent worlds, letters, and phrases that are subject to literate comprehension!
For a chunk of the summer, I determined that I would watch the Office since I hadn't given it a fair chance the first time I watched it a year prior. Since I have grown to enjoy it most of the time. Not to fall into the stereotype of Office fans, Dwight is indeed my favorite character because of the dry humor that he provides. Dwight is known for his contradicting statements that begin with him saying "False". For example in the Schrute Facts Meme:
Rainn (actually pronounced how it looks, which I didn't know) Wilson, the person behind Dwight Schrute teamed up with College Humor to create an online fundraiser called Malarious to raise money for a stop to malaria. Rainn takes part in this in a segment called "Your Facebook is False" where he takes inspirational quotes and tells you why it is wrong. Enjoy!
It somewhat makes you think about the reality of your posts, but at the same time, it really just wants to make me troll people and tell them why their Facebook status is false.

Busier Day Than I Expected
Today, I am busier than I thought I'd be and as a result I don't have the time that I want to put into a quality post. I feel like after a recruitment event of Ultimate Frisbee (weather permitting) I'm just going to have to hustle back, grab my stuff, get changed, and maybe get dinner.
Maybe I'll be a hamburglar...
and then make it to class..

3D Design: Week 1
Last night I had a 3D Design class where I learned pretty well how to make any 3D object in a model form. While I still have not learned animation, I still really like how all my objects turned out. I really do not have much to say about the class so far, but I figured I'd show off my work.
Set of 3 objects
Set of 3 objects with orb in the bowl
metal cup
metal cup
metal cup and purple glass cup
If you want me to make something else, let me know and I can give it a shot.
Have a great weekend!

Assassin's Creed Blending
My roommate has a plan to play all the Assassin's Creed games before Assassin's Creed III comes out. In doing research about whether it was actually called Assassin's Creed III or not, I found that there is another Assassin's Creed III game coming out exclusively for the PSVita called Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, which follows the guild in 18th century New Orleans. The main character is a French-African assassin names Aveline, who allegedly crosses paths with Connor from the full release Assassin's Creed III.
After seeing this info about the games. I am starting to wonder why you need to have mixed ethnicity characters in the US? Why do you need a French-African or a Native American-English character? What is wrong with a British assassin coming to America with missions from the guild?
Anyway, before I get into a rant that I know little-to-nothing about let me step back to the title here. In every Assassin's Creed game you see the main character blend in with commoners and then you instantly disappear. At first, I thought that it was crap and that it was a cop out for hiding a bit, but then I saw this picture here.

Son of a gun, it actually works. I didn't notice the Altair cosplay until I looked at the picture a little further. So the next time you play and think that it shouldn't work, look here and apologize.

Harry Potter and the Really Long Post
Yesterday, my roommates and I got a couch from the Salvation Army so now I can sit in the front room with my computer plugged in right in front of the AC. A while back I found some pretty funny, yet somewhat racy Harry Potter Facebook wall pictures that tell the story of the book. The main thing though is that they are really long pictures, but they are all really funny (at least to me).
First the Sorcerer's Stone:
Next, The Chamber of Secrets
I have a pretty laid back day today with work til 4pm and a Pi Lambda Phi information night between 6pm and who knows when.

I Won't Forget, But I Didn't Tell Facebook
The title itself is a contradiction as this post ends up on Facebook after it is published. 11 years ago, there was a large-scale terrorist attack against the United States leaving many dead, many wounded, and many people scarred for life. I remember that as a kid (I was 10 at the time) I was left completely in the dark about everything that was happening. I remember coming home from school and wondering why my Dad was home from work already, since he didn't usually get home until 6pm.
I don't think I quite grasped everything at that point, but I remember going to candlelight vigils and just seeing how sad everyone was, but yet how strong everyone was. I strongly remember four big things about the events surrounding 9/11.
1) Seeing graphic images of people jumping from buildings to quicken their inevitable demise.
2) This Song:
3) Having to have a plan in case any sorts of terrorist attacks happened again.
In fact, I think we finally just emptied out the preparedness box that we had made in case some sort of "dirty bomb" were dropped nearby. The fact that we prepared for a possible bomb is a scary thing to deal with as a kid.
4) The silence outside as you hear no airplanes going by.
As I said before, it is a scary thing to deal with so obviously I will never forget what I've seen and heard. There is no way that I will forget what happened...

Classes Look Pretty Good So Far
Last night was the first of many Fraternity meetings this year and a couple of the brothers said that they have really difficult semesters ahead of them. As of now, I think I have a great schedule that will allow me to balance out my workload pretty easily.
While I haven't had 2 of my classes yet, I definitely feel like I'm ready to get this semester rolling. I feel like my semester will definitely feel more impressive than impossible.
While I'd prefer to not step on a lego or hot coals, I still think this semester could have its hectic points and times where I'll feel like I have no time. Nevertheless, I've already been told I'll be bored with one class for the first half of the year since it is primarily website design, but I can work on other homework during that time.
I've only got class tonight at 6pm so I have most of the day open to do whatever I want which is actually really nice, even though I haven't the foggiest of what I'm going to do.
Have a great day!

Science
Getting back to school isn't the cause of this post, but rather, I have a small supply of images remaining and the one I picked for today fits kind of well with the one from yesterday and created the theme about today. In high school especially, I really enjoyed chemistry and a little bit of biology, so if I were not going to be a website designer, I would have been a biochemist probably. Needless to say, I still have found myself in the midst of science still. A handful of my classes are computer science classes and the rest, while they are labeled graphic communication still rely on technology that has science effects, such as physics and chromatics (color studies), in them.
For example, I am taking a class this semester on 3D design using a product called MODO. It is a high-end 3D design software that has physics based systems on it so you can make whatever you design act how it should in a realistic looking setting.
So now there is a chance I can test how durable a design is in drop tests or see how objects will interact with each other when they collide.
But still this is a very small and almost insignificant sector of science. There is so much out there whether it is particle physics, water-based chemistry, marine biology, software engineering, radiology, etc. there is so much science to manage and deal with. And frankly...
When in doubt read it a second time...
Now I shall leave you with a couple thoughts and some music about science.
Have a great weekend!

What did you just say?
Today I begin my (potentially) final first day of school, and it seems so weird to think about it that way. I've spent the last 16 years of my life in school and it is about to be the beginning of the end. While Grad School is a definite possibility, I'm not sure it will happen right away. I've been getting calls from recruiters trying to hire me, but I really have no desire to drop out of school to start a job. Hopefully, these calls keep coming as I get closer to graduation.
Anyway, last night I was watching TV and I realized that there is a lot of potentially suggestive stuff on there. It got me thinking though, what other kinds of things can be misconstrued to mean something else. Chef Gordon Ramsey from shows like Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and recently Hotel Hell did a show on BBC called Cookalong Live. From this show, someone compiled clips to make a rather dirty video
Suggestive Themes Not Suitable for Younger Viewers
My initial thought after seeing this video came right from the mouth of another generally foul mouthed individual, Craig Ferguson.
Try to keep your mind out of the gutter and have a great day!

Dilemma
Over the Summer I used my laptop for a majority of my link finding fro pictures and whatnot, but now my laptop is temporarily out of commission until I get a replacement battery adapter that isn't dysfunctional. I currently have my desktop up and running, but I only have 3 pictures that I can use for a post and none of them can be used together easily.
As a result, the next few posts will be mostly videos since I can post videos from any computer relatively easily.
A while back I subscribed to Old Spice deodorant's YouTube channel because they usually post some really good videos. A week or so back, they posted a tailer video to something called muscle music. This video linked to a Vimeo video, which has finally found its way onto YouTube. While I'm pretty sure that this isn't real, I think its still clever.
Tomorrow, I start my last year of classes so with that, posts will have more sporadic times when they will be released.
Have a great day!

Let The Relaxation Commence
I completely forgot that I didn't have a post ready for Friday, and for that I apologize. I have been super busy with the Greek Life Retreat to the point where today is my first day that I have very little to do. Classes start up on Thursday, but I feel like I've been here for for 2-3 weeks already with how busy I've been. I know I should have more to post about but I am exhausted and I really just want to focus on relaxing and letting my body heal as I've gotten bruises from who knows where, scratches from paper cuts on boxes, and overall soreness everywhere.
Sorry this post isn't that great, but I hopefully will be back to normal once classes start up... Hopefully.
Have a great day!
